Eat for Life Dietetics uses a food first approach to provide individualised nutrition education and advice through face-to-face and telehealth Dietitian consultations. Face-to-face appointments are available at our North Lakes and Wavell Heights clinics.

Eat for Life Dietetics offers general health services as well as specialty health services in the areas of women’s health, mental health, and Disability. Women’s Health

Eat for Life Dietetics is passionate about supporting women through all life stages to achieve their health and nutrition goals. Women often lead busy lives and experience a range of health issues and concerns that are not always well recognised within our health system. It is important that each person’s individual goals, life experiences and concerns are listened to, acknowledged and respected and at Eat for Life Dietetics we are committed to providing a service that is flexible, realistic, and manageable within your busy life!

Mental Health

The link between food, nutrition and mental health is well established. We know that this relationship can be complicated and often food choices can impact our mental health, and our mental health impacts our food choices. At Eat for Life Dietetics we acknowledge the additional challenges that people struggling with mental health conditions can face and aim to provide an understanding, supportive environment where we explore not only what you eat but why you eat and how you eat. We aim to work with you on building a healthy relationship with food and your body.

Paediatric services

Nutrition can have an important impact on growth, development and overall well being for our growing kids. At Eat for Life Dietetics, we know that navigating food and eating during these years is not always straightforward! We are passionate about helping families navigate nutrition or growth concerns in a fun, realistic and free-of judgement environment where your families needs are always put first. We aim to provide strategies that make life easier for parents, while positively promoting the health and wellbeing for your child

We are experienced in supporting children from ages 4 years + to treat and manage: 

  • Changes or concerns with weight or growth patterns
  • Dietary management of diet-related conditions i.e inflammatory bowel disease, IBS, coeliac disease
  • Fussy eating and food avoidance 
  • Sensory processing challenges leading to restrictive diets i.e. only eating certain colours, textures and flavours
  • Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
  • Managing poor appetite with or without medication use 
  • Managing constipation and diarrhoea with food and fluid intake
  • Helping to improve intake of core food groups i.e. grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy and protein.

Disability Services

Eat for Life Dietetics is proud to be a NDIS Registered Provider. 

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support for Australians with a permanent and significant disability, their families, and carers. The aim of the NDIS is to support its participants to develop skills and increase capacity to achieve greater independence, social and economic participation.

Eat for Life Dietetics recognises that people with a Disability may have complex medical conditions and/or complicated social and living situations that requires a specialised, inclusive, and comprehensive approach. We are committed to working with NDIS participants to support them in achieving their goals in a way that is both realistic and effective. To do this, we strive to develop a deep understanding of each person’s disability, medical history, living situations, available resources and supports.

We have experience working with support coordinators, plan managers, support workers, behaviour management specialists, family and other allied health and medical professionals. We love seeing our clients achieve a greater level of independence, happiness, health and social participation.

Eat for Life Dietetics can provide allied health services to self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed participants. Services can be provided under the Improved health and Wellbeing and/or the Improved Daily Living categories of your NDIS Capacity Building Supports Budget and the Assistance with Daily Life Category of your NDIS Core Supports Budget.

Yes, Eat for Life Dietetics is proud to be an NDIS Registered Provider.

Mikaela has worked with NDIS Participants since the scheme was first rolled out in Queensland. She is experienced in providing support for NDIS participants and can help you in the following ways:

  • During your initial planning phase by providing therapy reports that demonstrate the impact your disability has on your life and making appropriate recommendations for dietitian services to support you in achieving your goals.
  • During your NDIS Plan – once you have received your NDIS plan, Eat for Life Dietetics can provide Dietitian Services, including face-to-face consultations, home visits, resource development and group education for carers and support workers.
  • Prior to a NDIS plan review – prior to a planned or requested NDIS plan review, Eat for Life Dietetics can supply an NDIS Therapy Report demonstrating why ongoing supports may be required and making appropriate recommendations for provision of these supports.

There are many reasons why a person with an NDIS plan may need to see a Dietitian. Here are some of the things we can help with:

  • Feeding difficulties including dysphagia and fussy eating
  • Chronic disease management
  • Weight concern
  • Bowel issues including constipation, diarrhoea and bloating
  • Wound care
  • Nutrition optimisation and education
  • Nutritional supplementation prescription

Eat for Life Dietetics charges fees based off the hourly rate of $193.99, as outlined in the NDIS Support Catalogue. The following line Items are available for use with Dietitians:

  • Capacity Building – Improved Health and well-being (12_025_0128_3_3)
  • Capacity Building – Improved daily living skills (12_062_0128_3_3)
  • CORE – Assistance with daily life (01_760_0128_3_3)

Initial Consultation (50 minutes)
This is a standard consultation, suitable for most general health concerns.

Marley – $139

Extended Initial Consultation (70 minutes)
This is for clients who need or want more time, it is recommended for clients looking for support with an eating disorder, disordered eating and gastro-intestinal concerns. It is also recommended for clients looking for support with multiple and/or complex health conditions and clients who have a history of dieting.

Review Consultation (30 minutes)
Mikaela – $89
Marley – $75
This is a standard review consultation suitable for most general health concerns.

Extended Review Consultation (45 minutes)

This is for clients who need or want more time, it is recommended for clients looking for support with an eating disorder, disordered eating and gastro-intestinal concerns. It is also recommended for clients looking for support with multiple and/or complex health conditions and clients who have a history of dieting.
